Cherine Spirou - LMC Coordinator, HT Science - Fairvale HS
Cherine Spirou is currently substantial Head Teacher Science at Fairvale High School and the coordinator of Lachlan Macquarie College. She was seconded to State Office as mEsh project officer for State Office to lead the Stage 6 Resource Writing for the new Stage 6 syllabus, leading a team of 12 teams from across NSW.
Cherine has been a Head Teacher since 2006 and is passionate not only about instilling the importance of science education to students but also the professional development of teachers, including pre-service teachers. She has been lecturing at Western Sydney University in the School of Education since 2011 and loves to impart her passion on these young teachers to share her knowledge and expertise.

Melissa Sharman - DP - Turramurra HS
Melissa Sharman has recently been appointed Deputy Principal at Turramurra High School, previously Head Teacher at Blacktown Boys High School. Melissa has been teaching since 1999 and achieved Lead accreditation in 2015.
Melissa has been responsible for both Science and Mathematics programs in a range of school settings. She is passionate about sharing the value of education and celebrating the ability of every teacher to have a positive impact on the lives of the young people they teach.

Bill Matchett - HT Science - Macquarie Fields HS
Bill has worked as a Science Teacher in South West Sydney since 1995, starting at Elizabeth Macarthur HS before moving to Westfields Sports HS as Head of Science. He is currently Head of Science at Macquarie Fields HS.
He is an experienced HSC marker, and senior HSC marker, and has written text resources for Nelson Cengage, including the upcoming Investigating Science in Focus.

Claire Rich - LMC Working Group Member, Darcy Road Public School @cirich1
Claire has worked in primary school education for the past eighteen years. She has worked across a variety of areas in NSW and QLD in different of roles. Claire currently works at Darcy Road Public School - focusing on integrating STEM (or STEAM) across the K-6 curriculum as well as working as part of the Lachlan Macquarie College Working Group looking for opportunities to excite students and teachers in Primary Schools about Science and Mathematics. Claire leads a team of teachers who run the LMC Stage 3 GAT Mathematics Competition which is currently operating at four sites across Sydney. Claire has presented workshops at the past two conferences. An advocate for the power of professional networking through platforms such as Twitter, Linkedin, Yammer and Facebook, she has recently started a network to build discussion on literature in all KLA's

David Watson is the newly appointed Head Teacher Mathematics at Fairfield High School, previously Head Teacher at Cherrybrook Technology High School. David has been teaching since 2007 and Head Teacher since 2011 and has experience developing teaching and learning programs in a range of school settings.
David works with Lachlan Macquarie College to run Gifted and Talented Maths days for students in Stages 4 and 5 around Sydney and in 2017 has commenced work with Eddie Woo and the Teachers Federation Centre for Professional Learning to provide training and support in programming for the new Stage 6 Mathematics courses.

Rebecca has been a proud public educator for 15 years and an Assistant Principal for 6 years. She has a vast experience in special needs, innovative learning and leadership development. Rebecca has unique teaching and leadership experience from metropolitan and rural schools and provides inspiring learning experiences for students and teachers. She has recently been selected as one of the few Class Dojo Ambassadors for Australia. Her recent methods using digital mediums to enhance learning has created quality educational opportunities for students and teachers. This is Rebecca’s 3rd year of delivering professional development at the Science and Maths Conference.
